Step 1 Warming up

1. T: Lets enjoy some pictures of the city. What can you see in the pictures.

  S: I can see some tall buildings, a lot of beautiful flowers and trees, the clean street/river. the happy people.

  T: What do you think of the city?

  S:The city is beautiful and clean.

  T: Yes, we could often see the clean river and blue sky some years ago. But now

    (Show some pictures of our city.)What do you think of our city.

S:The city is dirty.

T: Yes ,the city is not clean. The air is dirty.(learn :air)

Step2 Presentation & New lesson

1. T: What makes the air dirty?

    Smog makes the air dirty.

    What else makes the air dirty?

  S:Smoke makes the air dirty.

  T: Wheres the smoke from?

   S:Smoke from cars/factories makes the air dirty.

2. Show Miss Li and her students in the picture on Page 58 and say:

  T:Today Miss Li and her students are talking about some environmental problems in their city. Lets watch and answer

    What are dirty in their city?

   S:Watch and answer

     The air is dirty.

     The streets are messy and dirty.

     The river is dirty.

  T: What makesdirty/messy.

  S: Read P58 and try to find out the answer

    Smoke from cars makes the air dirty.

    Smoke from factories makes the air dirty

    Bubbish makes the streets messy and dirty.

    Rubbish makes the river dirty.

3.T: Sum up the dialogue and make a dialogue

A:Is our city clean?

B:

A: What is dirty in the city?

B:

A: What makes…dirty/messy?

B:makesdirty/messy.

A: Is the river dirty?

B: Yes,

 4. T: They knew what makes their city dirty.They want to do some thing to keep the city clean. What can they do to keep the city clean.

     Read the dialogue on page 59 and find out their solutions to the problems.

     S: Read and write on page 60.T lists the answers on the blackboard.

     Learn :moveaway from, plant more trees

5.Reading time

  Read after the computer. Then read in roles.

6.Have an interview

  T:Our city has many environmental problems, too. Theres an interview from CTV. Its about To keep our city clean.They need some reporters.  Im the reporter now. Ill ask you some questions.

Model: Reporter: Hello, Imfrom CTV. Nice to meet you.

      Citizens: Nice to meet you, too.

Reporter: Is our city clean?

Citizens:

Reporter: What are dirty in the city?

Citizens: The is/are dirty.

Reporter: What makesdirty?

Citizens: Themakesdirty.

        ……

Reporter: What can we do to keep our city clean?

Citizens: We can

       We can also

       We cant.

Reporter: Your ideas are all great. Thank you. Goodbye.

Citizens: Goodbye.

S:Have an interview in groups in six and show.

出示对比的图片,几年前空气清新的城市,现在有雾霾的城市;几年前干净的河流,现在被污染的河流通过鲜明的对比,导入本课主题,学习clean, dirty.

 

 

通过学生对图片的感受引出单词air,smog,通过老师的提问让学生初步感知本课重点句型:What makesdirty?并进一步学习单词factory,factories.

 

 

 

学生通过观看卡通和初读58页课文内容,找出城市中存在的问题,并利用老师提供的句型结构概括表达这些问题,把握文章大意。

本单元是有关环境保护的话题,主要学习环境污染产生的原因What makes our dirty?及如何进行环境保护What can we do to keep our city clean?六年级的学生对环保这个话题并不陌生,他们已经通过各种渠道,如其它课程,媒体等对污染原因和环保的重要性,方法都有所了解,关键是他们通过本单元的学习学会如何用英文表达,也使环保意识进一步得以增强。

我所执教的是Storytime这个板块。该板块有两个话题,第一,什么造成了城市污染?第二,如何保持城市清洁。板块内容清晰,主题明确。所以在设计本节课的思路时我都是围绕着这两个问题而设计了多种情境和活动。 

1. Watch and think:

出示两组对比强烈的图片,以前空气清新的城市,现在有雾霾的城市;以前干净的河流,现在被污染的河流通过鲜明的对比,导入本课主题,学习clean, dirty.

2. Watch and answer整体感知课文

在新授部分在由学生观看动画之后,明确Miss Li 和学生在讨论“What makes our city dirty, how to make our city clean?”问题之后,由我创设问题情境“What makes the city dirty?”,先让学生带着问题,自主阅读文本第一部分,通过他们小组合作具体探讨是什么让城市的哪里变脏,问题逐层递进,解决的策略也从单薄的个人力量演变为集体的小组合作。

自读课文,探寻环境污染产生的原因,并解决What makes our dirty?接下来,通过快速读课文,完成英语书上60页,解决如何保护环境的问题。在教学过程中我利用板书帮助学生在在头脑中建立课文的框架,使学生能进行流畅的表达。如:

在巩固环节,我利用电视台正在招聘记者的真实情境,让学生争当优秀小记者,打开学生的思维,将所学知识串联起来让学生运用。在采访的过程中让学生体会环境污染的严重性,保护环境的重要性,以及增强环境保护意识的迫切性。学生的思维和小组合作力量也很令人吃惊,表现很赞! 

5. Let’s imagine

最后通过对未来城市的畅想,再次培养学生保护环境应从我做起,从小事做起,保护环境人人有责的意识,只有这样,我们未来的城市才会更美,更干净,更现代化。

纵观整堂课,在学生层面上,我缺乏大胆质疑,高年级的课堂应该是合作与质疑相结合的整体;在板书设计上,虽然自认为板书清晰且美观,但是却缺少了手写,板书确实是展现教师基本功的一种方式,我们不容忽视,所以我这节课的板书,可以把贴的图片改成短语文字,然后把文字再以简笔画的形式勾勒出来,这样一来不仅有了花朵的美,也有了教师基本功的呈现。有活动就会有收获,有反思才会有进步!我成长,我快乐;我反思,我进步!
