 教学内容:六下Unit 8 Grammar time & Fun time

教学目标:

1 能正确、熟练地运用句型What do you want to be/ do in the future ?I want to  be...I want to...

2 能了解更多关于职业类的单词。

3 能正确使用英语和同伴讨论梦想。

教学重难点

能正确、熟练地运用句型What do you want to be/ do in the future ?I want to  be...I want to...和同伴讨论梦想。

教学过程:

Step 1 Warming up

1. T: Im Miss Candy. Im your new teacher today. Do you want to know me?

  S: What colour do you like?

Do you have any hobbies?

Whats your favourite festival?

Whats your dream?

  T: I want to be an excellent teacher like Miss Li, because I love English and I love children.

2. Lets review 

  T: Whats Miss Lis dream?

  S: She wants to see  the studentsdreams come true.

T: What are the students dreams? Four students a group, choose one and act.

  S: I want to be_________________

because I want to______________/

because______________________.

 Their dream show one by one.

 

Step 2 Presentation

1. Grammar time

T: Good job, boys and girls. In the story, when they talk about their dreams, what do they say? You can discuss with your partner.

Discuss in pairs.

T: When we want to know other’s dream, how can we ask?

S: What do you want to be in the future?/ What do you want to do in the future? /What’s your dream? /Do you want to be…?(Stick these sentences on the blackboard)

T: When we want to tell others our dream, how can we say?

S: I want to be a/an… /I want to… /My dream is…/Yes./No, I want to be a …(Stick these sentences on the blackboard)

T: Good. Look at these sentences. Can you find the rules?

S: want to be+job/ want to+do

T: Yes, you’re so clever.

 

2. Fun time

T: We know how to ask and tell about dreams. So let’s do a survey in our groups. Four students are in a group. The two ask together, one answers. Ask and answer one by one and fill in the form.

  B, C :   What do you want to be in the future?

A :  I want to be a/an ...

B, C :  What do you want to do?

A :  I want to ...

T: Lets report.

 Two of them report their dreams. They can report together or just one by one.

In our group, A wants to be a/an... He/She wants to...

                B and C want to be ...s. They want to...

                ...

 The other students fill in the form.

 After the report, the third student can ask a question

What does A want to be/do?       

Does C want to be a/an...?

 

3. Lets think:

T: All your dreams are nice no matter whether it is big or not.
   Try your best to pursue it.
   Everything is possible in the future.
   How can we make our dream come true?

T: Lets enjoy a story and think: How did Da Vinci make his dream come true?

Leonardo Da Vinci wanted to be an artist. But he was not good at drawing at first. He couldnt even draw eggs well. But he never gave up. So he watched eggs very carefully and drew a lot of them. He drew the eggs for 3 years. And then after he was good at drawing eggs, he began to draw other things. At last, he became a great artist.

SHe never gave up.

TSo if you want to make your dream come true, what are you going to do?

Discuss in pairs.

 

Step 3 Consolidation

T: Everyone has his own dream. And I hope your dreams can come true. Lets make a dream card.

Ss write down their dream card.

T: Lets share a dream card in a group of four.

Ss share their dream card.

T: Now you can stick your card on the tree. This is our dream tree.

T: My dream now is to see your dreams come true. Good luck!

Step 4 Homework

1. Surf the Internet about more jobs.

2. Ask your friends about their dreams and write it down.
